January 25, 2026 Update Our Growing Together Toward Heaven campaign is underway, and the generosity of our St. Louis de Montfort community is inspiring! To date, our campaign has already raised more than $10 million toward our $15 million goal!
I would like to offer my thanks to our volunteers for their diligent work in getting us to this point. I also would like to thank our donors for their generosity. While there is much to celebrate, much work remains to be done.
This past week and this upcoming week, volunteers have been and will continue to reach out individually to members of our parish. I ask that you please keep in mind the following:
Volunteers – Dual Donation Our volunteers are just that – volunteers. They have graciously agreed to donate their time and talent for the betterment of our St. Louis de Montfort community. They are serving in this role because they believe in our church and school and are passionate about its future. Please treat them with respect and thank them for helping in this important capacity.
Personal Touch Our volunteers have been asked and prepared to personally meet with members of the St. Louis de Montfort community about the campaign. If you receive a call, I kindly ask that you: Take the call or return the message. Please do not avoid talking to our volunteers. It makes their job more difficult and puts them in a position where they must keep calling to reach you. Meet face-to-face. If you are invited to meet, please give our volunteers 15 minutes of your time. They are not trying to pressure you or twist your arm. They just want to briefly explain the campaign goals, answer your questions and receive a decision about your participation.
Have your pledge card? Return It! If you received a pledge card inside your packet of materials, we invite you to discern your campaign commitment, complete the card and return it in the envelope provided. If you would like to speak with a campaign volunteer, please reach out to the parish office or email [email protected]. You can bring it to the parish office, place it in the collection basket during Mass or return it by mail.
Your Gift Matters! Remember, the letter you received from me includes a financial request. It is not an expectation. It is an invitation. I invite you to pray about this campaign and our parish. You may not be able to give what was asked. You may be able to give more than asked. Whatever your decision, please know that I deeply appreciate your commitment. It is a true blessing to our parish, and so are you!

January 18, 2026 Update FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS... Last weekend we officially launched St. Louis de Montfort’s Growing Together Toward Heaven Capital Campaign – a critical effort to raise funds for our new church and adoration chapel. A packet of materials about our campaign was mailed to all registered families this past week. This packet includes a case statement booklet along with a letter from Father Haan requesting a pledge to the effort. Over the coming weeks, our team of volunteers will be reaching out to families to discuss the campaign, answer questions and seek your support. We may not be able to personally contact every family, but we do hope that all families will choose to participate in this important campaign.
Over the past several weeks, we have continued to share answers to some frequently asked questions. We will continue to provide those answers as we move forward, so please be sure to contact our campaign team with any additional questions you may have!
JANUARY 11, 2026 Update
After months of preparation, we are excited to approach the official kickoff of St. Louis de Montfort’s Growing Together Toward Heaven Capital Campaign!
Next week (January 12-19), every family in our parish will receive a packet containing a letter with a pledge request and information on how to support our master plan. Before this mailing, we want to share a few key thoughts:
Invitation, Not Expectation: Each family will receive a suggested request based on careful consideration. This is a starting point for your personal discernment, not an obligation. The parish will gratefully receive any gift you choose to offer.
Reflect and Pray: Please take a moment to reflect on the future of St. Louis de Montfort and prayerfully consider how you might contribute, mindful of the blessings God has entrusted to you.
Shared Responsibility: This campaign is a shared effort. Every family is invited to contribute through generosity, sacrifice, and prayer to ensure its success.
We look forward to celebrating the kickoff with you next week.
Together, we can build a bright future for St. Louis de Montfort Catholic Church and School!
DECEMBER 21, 2025 UPDATE Project Details
Will the various projects of the 15-year master plan be completed in a specific order? The planning study, conducted earlier this year, showed that parishioners see the new church and adoration chapel as the top priority. Our Growing Together Toward Heaven capital campaign will raise funds to build the new church and adoration chapel. The success of our campaign will allow us to set tiered goals for Phase IB and determine what aspects can be completed with any funds raised above our Phase IA goal. A new planning study will be completed prior to raising funds for our Phase II projects to ensure we are addressing the most current needs. The order at this time is:
Phase IA: New church and adoration chapel, including site work
Phase IB: Remodeling of the current church to a social hall, renovation of the lower level to become meeting space, construction of a new kitchen for the social hall and an addition for parish offices.*
Phase II: New school cafeteria and multipurpose room, and an education wing for the preschool and CGS.*
* We will evaluate needs and assess order of these projects at a later date.
What is included in Phase 1 that we are raising fund for now? The focus of the current capital campaign is construction of a new church and adoration chapel. This includes demolition of the parish office and preschool, remodeling the Ministry Center to move the preschool into that building, all required site and underground work, and connecting the new church to the existing church. The current church will then serve as an expanded social hall and gathering space.
Will we need any variances for our church design? We are currently in the design phase of our new church and adoration chapel, so nothing has been finalized. We would like to add a basement under a portion of the new building if it is financially feasible. The choir loft and moving our existing organ into this space is in the current design as well. The Narthex of the new church will connect into the existing church, which will become our social hall providing access to other spaces and we are designing some multi-purpose rooms that can provide areas for weddings, funerals and other celebrations typical in our church.
How are we ensuring ADA considerations for all new spaces, entrance to church and pews in church? In partnership with our architect and construction management companies, we will be assessing all aspects of our design to ensure our parishioners and visitors with disabilities are accommodated so their worship experience is enhanced.
December 13/14, 2025 Update
How will Phase I Bless Our Children and Youth? Every member of our parish will benefit from Phase I of our Growing Together Toward Heaven campaign. The construction of our new Church and Adoration Chapel will strengthen the faith of our young people and support the families who help form them. These projects will create sacred and communal spaces that nurture discipleship, deepen our encounter with Christ and draw our parish family closer to Him. There will also be enhancements to what we are able to offer on campus to gather as a community inside the social hall that will be converted from the existing church and some outdoor prayer spaces that offer opportunities for prayerful reflection.
The New Church - Our new church will give our children and families a beautiful house of God where they can encounter Christ. The sacred beauty of the new church will support reverent liturgy, strong catechesis, inspire prayer and a deeper understanding of our Catholic faith.
The New Perpetual Adoration Chapel - The new Perpetual Adoration Chapel will serve as the spiritual heart of our campus. Entire classes can gather before the Blessed Sacrament for quiet prayer and reflection. CYO teams, youth ministry groups and other student organizations will have a sacred place to seek Christ together. These experiences will encourage every member of our parish to know this is a sacred place they can go to talk with Jesus throughout their lives.
Performance Area - As we convert the existing church space into a large social hall, we will have a dedicated stage that will allow children to share their God-given gifts through Christmas concerts, school plays and Veterans Day programs. It will also host musical performances, assemblies and other moments that celebrate the talents and growth of our children and youth.
Social Hall - The converted church space will create a spacious hall to support the life of our parish and school through back-to-school nights, parent groups and major parish events such as the Feast Day celebrations and seminarian dinners. This welcoming space will help families build relationships that strengthen our Catholic community. With a capacity well beyond what we currently have in Craig Willy Hall, we will all be able to fit comfortably for these parish-wide celebrations.
Connected Spaces - Improved connections between buildings and an expanded narthex and direct entry into our new social hall will create natural gathering places for families after Mass. These spaces will foster fellowship, conversation and the sense of belonging that helps faith take root in daily life. Even coffee and donuts will now be a simple indoor walk through the corridor.
Outdoor Prayer Spaces - New intentionally designed outdoor prayer areas will give classrooms a peaceful setting to reflect on Scripture, pray the rosary and spend intentional time with God. These spaces will help all generations recognize the beauty of creation as a gift from the Lord. While final details of our plans are still being designed, the current direction should provide many benefits to all of our parishioners. We have been especially attentive to ensure these enhancements will create opportunities for our school children, religious education youth and their parents to experience Christ and continue to form their faith.
December 6/7, 2025 Update
What other options were considered to meet the needs of our parish? When our initial master plan for the St. Louis de Montfort campus was developed, we engaged a small team of parishioners and leaders at the parish and diocese to assess options. Many factors were taken into account including the capacity of our church, the growth we’ve seen, the size of our school and the possibility of expanding the school, the disjointed nature of our campus and the inefficiency of current building on our 8.8 acres of land. During this process, we evaluate options including purchasing land and moving all or part of our campus to another location. We concluded this was not a viable option to consider. We evaluated expanding the capacity of the current church but based on its structure we determined this was not a viable option. An area-wide meeting took place to assess the Catholic School footprint in Hamilton County as well, which resulted in a decision that our school is at the right size.
What information helps illustrate the growth of Fishers and SLDM? The growth we have experienced in the past 3 years at SLDM is significant and is the result of both the population growth in our area and the excitement and energy that our community has shared with others who are attracted to a vibrant parish.
Fishers
Fishers has grown by 20,000 people in the last decade. It is now the 4th largest city in the state with a population of 107,000.
Fishers is currently growing at a rate of 1.46% annually.
The population of Fishers has increased by 7.73% since the last census in 2020.
City of Fishers expects an increase of 30,000 people in 15 years. (Fishers 2040 Comprehensive Plan).
According to the Fishers development dashboard, over 1,100 homes and multi-family units are being built within parish boundaries (3 miles of SLDM).
SLDM
Since January of 2023, we have registered almost 400 new households at SLDM.
Mass attendance has grown by 31% since 2022.
We are on track for 125,000 Mass attendees this year, nearing our 2015 high of 126,000.
Research shows that when Mass is over 70% full, visitors are less likely to return. In 2025, the 9am and 11:30am Masses have exceeded this capacity nearly every Sunday.
Community events held on our campus are typically at capacity creating a crowded experience in Craig Willy Hall.
November 29/30, 2025 Update
Why Are We Building a New Church and Adoration Chapel?
Your Input During our spring parish-wide planning study to understand your hopes for the future of St. Louis de Montfort, we heard a strong and unified message. People are excited about the direction of our parish and were supportive of the plans to further develop our campus. It was clear that the new church and adoration chapel were seen as the two highest priorities and 92% of participants said they would make a gift to support a campaign. As we move forward, we remember the key reasons WHY our plan is so important.
Growth Fishers continues to grow quickly, and our parish is growing with it. In the past three years, we have registered nearly 400 new families at SLDM. This increase directly affects how full our Masses are each week, and studies show visitors are less likely to return when a Mass is at or above 70% full. In 2025, the 9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Masses have exceeded this level nearly every Sunday. According to the Fishers 2040 Comprehensive Plan, the city expects 30,000 new residents in the next 15 years. A larger church will allow us to welcome new families and remain a visible sign of faith for all who call this community home.
Legacy We stand on the foundation laid by parishioners whose vision and sacrifice built our current church and school. Now it is our turn to prepare a spiritual home for the next generation. A new church and adoration chapel will continue our story of faith and create places where future generations encounter Christ in prayer and community. In doing this, we will also be able to convert our current church into a social hall giving us adequate space to gather and live our faith together.
Community A unified campus will make it easier for parishioners to gather for worship and community life. It will help us host key large parish events like the seminarian dinner, back to school nights, the St. Nicholas Breakfast, our Feast Day Celebration, Mary’s Way and the Corpus Christi Celebration. Improved flow and hospitality will ease visitor confusion, support grieving families during funeral meals and strengthen community moments like coffee and donuts, catch up conversations and meaningful parent connections.
Beauty The new church will draw on beautiful and timeless architectural elements that lift hearts to prayer and teach our faith through design. Our leadership team has studied this closely through research, tours and consultations with Catholic leaders. This vision is rooted in Starved for Wonder, the pastoral letter on the role of beauty in parish life. A copy of this letter can be found on the homepage of our website, in the narthex, as well as the parish office. Beauty plays a key role in evangelization, and our church should help all who enter encounter God through wonder.
